�ֲ��ý Promise

The �ֲ��ý Promise is a last dollar program that furthers �ֲ��ý University's ongoing commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals while reducing their need for student loans.

Garden State Guarantee

The Garden State Guarantee (GSG) is a last-dollar program created to assist New Jersey residents in affording the cost of their education.

First-Year (Freshman) Applicants

First-year merit scholarships are based on both academic and extracurricular achievement.

Out-of-State Tuition Scholarship

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (all GPAs will be converted to a 4.0 scale)
Incoming first-year students may receive the Tuition Scholarship for up to eight semesters.
Student's permanent address must be in a U.S. state outside of New Jersey, or Puerto Rico, and not eligible for in-state tuition.
Students must maintain continuous full-time enrollment and a 3.0 cumulative �ֲ��ý University GPA to renew the award.
Student must reside in on-campus housing to maintain this award.

Amount:$8,258/year^

International Student Scholarship

Must have applied and been admitted as an international student.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (all GPAs will be converted to a 4.0 scale)
Incoming first-year students may receive the scholarship for up to eight semesters.
Students must maintain continuous full-time enrollment and a 3.0 cumulative �ֲ��ý University GPA to renew the award.
Student must reside in on-campus housing to maintain this award.

Amount:$8,258/year^

Transfer Applicants

Excellence in Academics Award

Must have 16 or more earned, transferable, non-basic skills credits from a regionally accredited undergraduate institution.
Cumulative GPA minimum: 3.4
Transcripts from all previously attended institutions will be used to calculate cumulative GPA.
New transfer applicants only; students applying for readmission or first-year applicants do not qualify.

GPA 3.4-3.74:
$1,000/year
GPA 3.75-3.99:
$2,000/year
GPA 4.0:
$3,000/year

NJ STARS II

Defined and administered by the State of New Jersey

Amount: up to $2,500/year

Out-of-State Tuition Scholarship

Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher (all GPAs will be converted to a 4.0 scale)

Important information regarding scholarships

�ֲ��ý Foundation Scholarships

The �ֲ��ý University Foundation maintains a robust merit-based scholarship program with approximately 200 scholarships. These scholarships are made possible thanks to the generous donations of alumni, friends of the university, organizations and businesses.

Open to current �ֲ��ý students, the Foundation Scholarship program honors the institution’s highest achieving, most deserving students. Recipients are chosen annually by the Presidential-appointed �ֲ��ý University Scholarship Selection Committee, and the program is administered by the Office of Development & Alumni Relations.

The 2025-2026 Foundation Scholarship application will open January 2025.

Please note: First-semester students (first-year or transfers) without a �ֲ��ý University GPA are not considered for Foundation Scholarships. You must be a currently enrolled student with a �ֲ��ý University GPA to apply.
